So since I now have a job, I gave in and took myself off of my self-imposed book-buying restriction. I was going to wait until I got my first pay check but we went to Costco today and they just happened to have two books I have been anxious to buy and two that I merely wanted.
I picked up the new Harry Potter, The Children of Hurin, Blaze (Richard Bachman\S. King), and Lisey's Story (S. King). I'll probably start reading the Potter tonight after I finish up Wings by Prachett.

Still on my must buy list:

I made my first complete Thanksgiving Dinner this year at M's house for him, his kids, and 4 of our friends.

The Menu:
Turkey Breast & Gravy
Ham
Sage & Apple Stuffing
Green Bean casserole
Sweet Potato casserole
Jello Salad
Green Salad
Rolls
Apple Pie
Pumpkin Pie

I made everything from scratch except for the pie crusts (ran out of time) and I had the complete dinner done at exactly the same time and the pies were done & set about 2.5 hours after dinner.

I was pretty happy with how everything turned out. Almost everyone even had seconds of the Sweet Potatoes after initially saying they didn't like sweet potatoes. I didn't add sugar to them, only pumpkin type seasoning (nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves). My favorites were the stuffing and the apple pie. The only dish I wish I had made were my brussel sprouts, but we had more than enough food as it was. On Monday, I was happily surprised when M told our waitress and his father that it was the best Thanksgiving dinner he had ever had.

Since I am a bit broke and in need of cash so that I can finish my house, I decided to break down and email my ex who owes me just over $5000. Unfortunately, I received delivery failures for both of the email addresses I had for him.

So, I had to google him...Google search brought up several entrees to pay sites that had his name and would give the info for a fee. I'm hate paying for anything I don't have to, so I ased Ask and sure enough found his personal webpage which lead me to his snail mail address (PO BOX), his email address, his live journal, and the LJ to his fiance's account.

I'm glad to see he has some friends now, doesn't appear to be homeless anymore, and has made his way to live in Japan for a reasonable time period.

Now if he'll just pay me back.

I hate season change - all of my energy is completely zapped, non-existent, drained. I want to sleep, but when I lay down I can't. I can't think straight, forward, or curved. This shall pass but it's hard to focus on things like SeaCompression...
